Our studio is founded on the belief that a well designed interior is not guided by trend, but by enduring principles. Proportion, craftsmanship, authenticity, and thoughtful materiality have shaped beautiful spaces for centuries because they respond to something fundamentally human. These principles provide a lasting foundation. Contemporary living informs how they are expressed.

Working closely with clients, architects, and artisans, each commission is developed from the architectural framework inward, balancing bespoke design, carefully sourced furnishings, and thoughtful editing to create environments that are both rich in character and grounded in their purpose.

​​BACKGROUND

​

Prior to founding Maxwell Imber Design, Maxwell was a concept designer for Ralph Lauren Purple Label, where he worked alongside Ralph and his senior design team developing luxury menswear concepts and collections. This experience reinforced a holistic approach to the creative process, where every decision contributes to a singular narrative. That same philosophy continues to shape the studio today, where every project is conceived as a complete world, thoughtfully composed to create an immersive and deeply personal experience.

Earlier in his career, Maxwell worked with a classical architectural practice, an AD100 interior designer, and a British yacht design studio, contributing to projects throughout New York, Connecticut, California, Texas, and the United Kingdom.

 

Maxwell holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Southern Methodist University and a Master's in Fine & Decorative Art from Sotheby's Institute of Art in London.
